Grateful hearts

We went to Michael’s last week and they already had all their Valentine’s crafts marked to 50% off.

I thought, what fun would it be for Cyrus to make his own Valentine’s to share. He is just starting to express interest in crafts, so I went easy on myself and picked up a pad of heart stickers.

I already knew I had left over blank cards from when we made our colorful Christmas cards this year so how could I pass up Valentine’s cards for a whole $2.50?

The same day someone gifted Cyrus those stretchy window clings, Valentine’s themed of course.

You may be able to predict what my house currently looks like…heart stickers and window clings everywhere.

And I kind of love. Everywhere I turn I smile. It’s like all these stickers and hearts are little love notes that Cy was here. I love seeing how his mind interprets the spaces he’s in. The way creativity comes out of him.

I know I’ll miss this season so much, sooner than I think.

It also serves as a reminder to me in why I’m working so hard to renovate our home. I want it to feel like his home too, I want him to feel invited by color and imagination. I want him to feel comfortable and not worry about tidiness all the time or for things needing to be perfect. I want him to live here with us.

Shoutout to Michael’s for offering me an affordable craft and also time for reflection and gratitude.
